Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (formerly known as CSCI) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They aim to make sure better care is provided for everyone whether it be in hospital, in care homes or in people's own homes.
They make sure that essential common quality standards are being met where care is provided and work towards the improvement of care services. They do this by asking people to tell them about their experiences of care services. In some cases they involve patients and carers directly in working alongside their inspectors to give an expert view of services.
