Public perception of Middlesbrough becks
A public perception survey was conducted, on behalf of the Environment Agency in May 2007, with 1005 Middlesbrough residents who live close to the becks named above. The Environment Agency wanted to find out residents' views on the becks, what issues were most important to them regarding the becks and whether they would like to see them improved. This report details all the key findings. The Environment Agency have allowed the Council full access to the report so we can share it with our residents.

Focus groups report on Marton West, Middle, Newham and Ormesby becks
Following the public perception survey the Environment Agency commissioned a further stage of research to explore the changes and improvements that residents would like to see on the becks in more detail. This involved a number of activities including work with local school children, interviews with key people in the community and workshops with local residents.
Focus groups were held with residents who had expressed an interest in taking part in further research during the survey. A total of five groups were conducted: two for Ormesby beck and one group for Newham, Middle and Marton West becks over December 2007 and January 2008.
