Play strategy

Play strategy

This is a policy with plans on how to improve children and young people's play resources in Middlesbrough from 2006 to 2011.

The types of play described are fixed play areas, natural play in the countryside and play leader schemes. The policy examines the different health and safety aspects that need to be considered and how to assess risk.

The policy is designed to be the foundation document and common reference point for all organisations, agencies and groups that have or should have an impact on children and young people's play. It is hoped that some of the action plan points will be achieved through lottery grants and Middlesbrough Council's own money.
