Local Development Framework (LDF)

Alongside saved policies from the Local Plan, the LDF is the development plan for Middlesbrough, and comprises of a number of Local Development Documents (LDD).

Please use the index below to access the required LDD or evidence base document. An overview of the document is provided below the index when selected.

Please note, the Core Strategy and Regeneration Development Plan Document (DPD) can be accessed via their individual sections in the index below, or via the interactive LDF. The Proposals Map, which displays geographically the policies of adopted DPDs (and any saved Local Plan policies), is only available via the interactive LDF.

The policies and proposals in the LDF are underpinned by an extensive evidence base. Please note, due to the extensive size of the evidence base, only a limited number of key documents are provided below, but others can be made available upon request.

Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The LDS details the content and timetable for the production of the Local Development Framework. The timetable sets out key stages (milestones) for the production of documents including proposed dates for public participation.

The Middlesbrough LDS was updated in June 2011. A copy of the LDS is available for download below.
