Fostering: could you be a foster carer?

Could you give a child in Middlesbrough a home when they need it most?

At Middlesbrough Council, we passionately believe that every child should have a safe, secure, and stable environment in which to grow and achieve their dreams. Right now, we have children who are looking for someone to make a difference in their life - could you be that person?

We're part of the Foster with North East support hub, which is backed by the Department for Education.

You'll still be supported by our experienced fostering team throughout your application, but the other Foster with North East carers are also there to offer support and guidance during your fostering journey. Everyone is on-hand to support you right from your initial application.

We're working together to strengthen the north east's fostering community through the Fostering Network's Mockingbird programme. Mockingbird links fostering families together to give the kind of support and relationships an extended family provides.

And the new Foster with North East buddy mentor scheme links new foster carers to experienced foster carers in their area to share knowledge and offer support.

To find out more or start your fostering journey today, head to the Foster with North East website.
