UK Youth Parliament - new MYP announced
Muskaan Mohammed, from Outwood Academy Acklam, has become the new Member of Youth Parliament for Middlesbrough. The count took place on Friday 14 February 2020, where more than 2,000 votes were counted.
Muskaan was up against Batool Butt, from Acklam Grange school, who has become the Deputy Member of Youth Parliament and will work with Muskaan over the next 2 years.
UK Youth Parliament election – 13 February 2020
On 13 February 2020, Middlesbrough will hold an election to appoint a new Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) for Middlesbrough, who will become part of the UK Youth Parliament (UKYP).
The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) lets young people to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better. Run by young people for young people, UKYP provides opportunities for young people aged 11-18 years old to use their voice in creative ways to bring about social change. This is a fantastic opportunity to become the voice of the Young people of Middlesbrough and to share their views.
Batool Butt, aged 15 from Acklam Grange School and Muskaan Mohammed, aged 16 from Outwood Academy, Acklam will go head to head to become the next MYP for Middlesbrough.
