Food4Health: healthy eating awards and advice

Food4Health Awards recognise and reward food businesses that offer healthy food options and promote healthy eating.

There are three awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each award considers the types of foods and ingredients used, how food is prepared and cooked, and how the business promotes healthy eating. Awards are free and businesses working towards achieving an award will receive advice and support on nutrition and healthy catering practices.

Businesses can make an application for a Food4Health award online.

Weight Management

The Food4Health Weight Management programme is designed to help people to maintain a healthy weight or achieve a sustainable healthy weight loss. The aim of the programme is to change lifestyles by eating differently and being more active. The programme teaches people how to cook healthy food, how to eat healthily at low cost and how to become more physically active.

Discounted use of the council's leisure centres is provided during the 10 week programme, together with a free membership for one month upon completion of the programme.
