Dead animals will be collected and disposed of within one day from all public areas, highways and domestic properties. If pets are micro-chipped, we'll make every effort to inform the owner. We don't send teams to pick up smaller dead animals like rodents, reptiles, birds, or small pets.
Animals which have died inside a domestic property (cats and dogs only) should be placed in a bag or wrapped in a blanket, and left outside the house for collection. We aren't able to enter your home to remove a deceased pet.
You can also take deceased pets to SUEZ for cremation (Haverton Hill Road, Billingham, Teesside, TS23 1PY).
To report a dead animal, you can use Report It.
Alternatively, you can call the Environment Contact Centre on 01642 726001.
