Contact your local library and we'll send books from our wider collection to that library for you to collect.

British Library book request

This is for specialist items we do not have in our collection.

First, we'll make a request to the British Library. This costs £1.70, which is non-refundable.

If the British Library cannot help, the request will be cancelled and you will not be charged anything extra.

If the British Library can help, you'll need to pay an extra £6 to reserve the item. We'll contact you to confirm this. You'll pay a total of £7.70 if your reservation is successful.

All charges apply per item.

Photocopies and printouts

• A4 black and white: 26p per page
• A4 colour: 52p per page
• A3 black and white: 52p per page
• A3 colour: £1.05 per page

Scanning

• Up to 5 sheets (document, into PDF format): £1.60
• Per file (photograph, into JPG format): £1.50

Laminating

• A4: £1.60 per page
• A3: £2.10 per page

Reproductions

• Commercial publications (black and white): £40
• Commercial publications (colour): £50
• Internet - UK (black and white): £40
• Internet - UK (colour): £50
• Internet - worldwide (black and white): £60
• Internet - worldwide (colour): £80

Research charges

• Per half-hour: £12.50
• Small research fee: £5

Commission on sales

• Sales of items for the public: 20% commission
