The Live Well Centre is a unique wellbeing hub offering a wide range of support to people in Middlesbrough who want to lead healthier and happier lives.
The centre, located in Dundas Arcade in the centre of Middlesbrough, was developed as a part of the Mayor's 2025 vision for a 'Fairer, Safer and Stronger' Middlesbrough.
It is now a key health champion in Middlesbrough, bringing together a raft of services under one roof with a unified aim: to energise the people of Middlesbrough for change and improve the health of people across the town.
The centre is a one-stop-shop for healthy living, whether people want help with stopping smoking, tips on planning healthy family meals or even advice on welfare rights, housing or employment.
It is a safe space for everyone in Middlesbrough, with staff trained to support those living with dementia and breastfeeding.
An amazing team of staff are on hand to support Middlesbrough residents to improve their lifestyle working in collaboration with many health professionals including the NHS.
Ester Carr, South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: "They're a fabulous team. Nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone."
In its first year of opening the centre has welcomed over 60,000 people through the door and has seen an increase of over 400% in people accessing smoking services provided at the centre.
The team at the centre also helped Middlesbrough residents secure over £220,000 in unclaimed benefits.
