The Ministry of Defence (MOD) and careers specialists Right Management Ltd formed the Career Transition Partnership (CTP). The CTP provides resettlement services for those leaving the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force and Marines. Regardless of time served, all members of the Armed Forces can benefit from CTP support when leaving Service.

Hire a Hero supports Service Leavers and Veterans to make the successful transition into civilian life. Trained Hire a Hero staff, Career Coaches and volunteers work with Service Leavers and Veterans to help them make the right choices through the transition period.

The RBL Employment Support service helps serving and ex-serving personnel and their families prepare for employment as they transition into civilian life. Their team can give you advice on how to put your skills to good use and get the best job for you, or refer you to one of their partners for support.

As an Armed Forces veteran, you can bring invaluable skills and experiences to the classroom by training to teach and you could benefit from a tax-free bursary of £40,000. From September 2018, this bursary will be available to eligible veterans who study for an undergraduate degree with qualified teacher status (QTS) in England, in secondary biology, physics, chemistry, computing, maths or modern foreign languages.

The RFEA is there to provide life-long, life-changing support, jobs and training opportunities to service leavers and veterans irrespective of circumstances, rank, length of service, or reason for leaving.

The Officer's Association provides support and advice to former officers and their dependents. They can provide support on a variety of matters including employment, finances, housing, health, wellbeing, and volunteering.

SSAFA provides financial, welfare and emotional support to anyone who has served/or still serving in the UK's Armed Forces and their immediate families. SSAFA operates in conjunction with Army, Royal Navy and Royal Airforce charities, The Royal British Legion and also with civilian charities and organisations that may be able to assist.

50 Futures is here to give work experience opportunities to the people in our communities who find it most difficult to get a job. Middlesbrough Council are offering a variety of high quality work placements across the different teams in the council. They are looking for job seekers over 16 years, who live in Middlesbrough and aren't in education, employment or training.

The RAF Families Federation provides all RAF personnel and their families with timely and professional support, assistance and an independent voice regarding issues or concerns that they may have. They also provide employment advice when it comes to preparing yourself for employment. Either as part of your transition out of the RAF or as a partner looking to simply change jobs or begin employment after a career break.

The house building industry has always been a popular choice of second career for ex-armed forces personnel. It’s hardly surprising when you see the similarities in skills required. All building sites require discipline, teamwork and a range of other talents that ex-armed forces have as standard.

Finding a job can be one of the hardest parts of leaving the RAF. If you feel that you need additional training or education to boost your skills and improve your chances of getting a job, there are various support services available to help you.

Forces.net is part of the Forces Network, the UK’s only media organisation dedicated to Britain’s armed forces and veterans. Many employers recognise that those who have served in the military have desirable and transferrable skills, and have indicated their commitment to hiring ex-military personnel by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant. The Forces Network offer these employers a direct route to this valuable talent pool. It is also a one-stop shop for employment opportunities for ex-military and their families.

Established in 2010, Walking With The Wounded supports a pathway for vulnerable veterans to re-integrate back into society and sustain their independence.At the heart of this journey is employment. They recognise the inherent skills of our armed service personnel and want to complement these qualities, as well as provide support to transfer their skills into the civilian workplace. They offer assistance through their programmes to those vulnerable veterans who have been physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged by their service and assist them in sustaining their independence through new sustainable careers outside of the military. This includes providing support to homeless veterans and veterans in the Criminal Justice System, areas which are too often ignored.

An Armed Forces champion exists in every Jobcentre Plus district and ensures that support meets the needs of the Armed Forces community. A service leaver isn't able to walk into their local Jobcentre Plus office and expect their local champion to be based there, instead the champions maintain close contact with Jobcentre Plus advisers who make them aware of Armed Forces issues.

Church Homelessness Trust are a grant-giving organisation that helps homeless people to rebuild their lives. They fund training, volunteering and work opportunities, personal development and training in life skills.
