A massive Middlesbrough clean-up is being planned – and your community needs you!
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston is proposing a month of action in which Middlesbrough Council, voluntary groups and residents work together to make big environmental improvements.
Already put forward as ideas for work are general litter picking, painting street furniture and fences, tidying play areas and cleaning litter bins.
However, members of the public are being asked to come forward with ideas of how to make their own communities look better.
It is proposed the month-long town-wide clean-up will begin on Monday, July 15.
Mr Preston said: “I’d love to see loads of people coming together and getting stuck in to make Middlesbrough look absolutely amazing.
“There are parts of Middlesbrough which are really beautiful but there are parts where there is too much litter or would be really improved with a lick of paint.
“A little can go a long way in making our communities look and feel a lot better and make them more attractive.
“The Council can provide equipment and things like paint, rubbish bags and litter pickers and together we can make a real difference.”
