Host families are being sought for a summer youth exchange programme with Middlesbrough’s German twin.
The Multi Germany Oberhausen Exchange Programme - hosted by the Hemlington Linx youth project - takes place this summer.
Organisers are on the look-out for families who would be willing to host young people aged 13-18 between Saturday, August 3 and Saturday, August 17.
The young people involved will then have a chance to make a return visit to Oberhausen next summer.
Senior Linx Youth Worker Ricky Tomlinson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an international exchange programme that includes project days, social action projects, city games, sightseeing and more.
“Those signing up for this year’s hosting programme will make new friends, learn about a new culture and take part in a packed two-week programme involving activities ranging from visiting local landmarks and sites throughout Middlesbrough and the North East to taking part in sporting events and even cooking.
“And most excitingly of all, we will then support the young people to fund-raise towards a two-week visit to Oberhausen in summer 2020.”
