Have you ever thought of representing your community and becoming a Councillor?
There are 46 seats plus the post of the Mayor that will be contested on Thursday, May 2 2019 for the Council’s 20 wards. Parish Council elections will also be held in Nunthorpe and Stainton and Thornton.
If you wish to stand for election to become the Mayor, a Councillor or a Parish Councillor you must submit your nomination papers to the Electoral Services by 4pm on April, 3 2019.
Once the nomination process has closed, Returning Officer briefings will be held for those standing as Ward or Parish Councillors on Thursday, April 4 2019 (2pm to 4pm) to provide candidates with further information on election/count processes, postal votes and expenses.
A briefing for those standing for elected Mayor will take place on Friday April, 5 2019 (10am to 1pm) where Mayoral candidates will also have chance to meet service directors.
