Would you like to help make the most successful and celebratory multi-cultural event in the Tees Valley happen?
Middlesbrough Mela is firmly established in the calendar and has become renowned for being a safe, family fun weekend for people from all sectors of society regardless of race, religion, age or social status - a true advert for community cohesion and cultural diversity.
On Tuesday, February 12, the Middlesbrough Mela Association is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the Mandela Room at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
The AGM will begin at 6pm with official AGM business, including the presentation of the Annual Report and Treasurer’s Report to the Association members followed by the election of Mela Association Committee Members for the year 2019-20.
The Mela Committee is a team of dedicated individuals who work hard all year round to put on the event, and it is their work which helps to foster and encourage a deep-rooted spirit of unity and togetherness.
The Middlesbrough Mela Association is seeking new Committee Members who would like to be part of this team. As a committee member you will be involved in the development and delivery of the Mela so an interest in the successful development and management of the Mela plus a willingness to attend and contribute to monthly meetings is crucial.
The group would welcome a range of skills from event management, fundraising, working with communities, great organisational skills or just the enthusiasm to help!
To join you need to complete a membership form prior to the AGM to be eligible to vote.
If you wish to attend the event or be considered for the committee, please contact Leanne Littlewood on 01642 729137.
The Middlesbrough Mela is supported by Middlesbrough Council.
