A board licence

Middlesbrough has much to offer by way of creating an ambiance that makes the town attractive to visitors and residents alike. It is the councils aim to help businesses to thrive by permitting the use, where and when it is appropriate to do so, of good quality advertising signs and displays of goods on the public highway.

If you wish to display such an advertising sign (commonly known as an A board), you'll need to apply for a licence.

Download an A board licence application form.

Before you apply, you should read the A board application guidance.

Application forms should be submitted to: Transport and Infrastructure, PO Box 504, Civic Centre, Middlesbrough, TS1 9FY, or by email to streetworks@middlesbrough.gov.uk.
