Development Control

The Development Control service handles planning applications, deals with planning appeals and carries out enforcement work.

Guidance

We recommend that you get confirmation from us about whether planning permission is needed before you start any work on your home. You can find general advice and guidance on the Planning Portal to help.

If you're thinking about applying for planning permission, the Planning Portal has a guide to the decision process to help you understand what will happen and when.

If you already have planning permission and you need to make a small change to your proposals, you'll need to apply for a 'non-material amendment'.

If you have any questions about development control issues, please read our FAQs section. If it doesn't answer your question, please get in touch.
