Local Development Scheme

Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, as amended by the Localism Act 2011, Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) like Middlesbrough Council are required to produce a Local Development Scheme (LDS). This is a project plan which sets out the LPA's timetable and programme for the production of their Local Development documents.

The LDS should be the starting point for anyone looking for information on the council's plan-making activities.
