Hairdressers and barbers registration

To run a hairdressing business in Middlesbrough you need to register with Middlesbrough Council's Public Protection Service and comply with local byelaws.

You may also be required to display a copy of the certificate of registration and copies of the byelaws of Middlesbrough Council in your premises.

What happens next?

After receiving your application and fee, a certificate of registration will be provided to you. An Environmental Health Officer may visit you to ensure your premises and practices are safe and comply with legal standards.
