Battle of Britain parade and service (annual - September, date to be confirmed)
The Battle of Britain parade and service is held annually in September at the cenotaph, where a service and wreath laying ceremony takes place, supported by the 1869 (Middlesbrough) Sqn RAF Cadets. The parade is attended by the Mayor of Middlesbrough and other civic dignitaries.
Trafalgar Day parade (annual - October, date to be confirmed)
The Trafalgar Day parade is held annually in October at the cenotaph, where a service and wreath-laying ceremony takes place, supported by TS Erimus Sea Cadets. The parade is attended by the mayors of Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton, and Hartlepool.
Laying of the first poppy (Thursday 7 November 2024)
The Mayor of Middlesbrough will lay the first poppy on the field of remembrance at the cenotaph from 10:45am. Pupils from Middlesbrough's primary and secondary schools will be invited to lay poppy crosses in the field of remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday (Sunday 10 November 2024)
The 2024 Remembrance Sunday parade and service will be held on Sunday 10 November. It will be attended by the Mayor and other civic dignitaries. As in previous years, the civic party, veterans, military, and cadets will form up to march to the cenotaph for the service. The parade will form up at 10:30am ready to march up to the cenotaph for the service, which should finish around 12pm.
Armistice Day (Monday 11 November 2024)
A small service will take place at the cenotaph where a two minute silence will be held from 10:45am.
Armed Forces Day (annual - June, date to be confirmed)
Armed Forces Day commemorates the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces. The date and any events for 2025 will be confirmed closer to the time.
