Housing-related support

Middlesbrough Council commissions housing-related support services to improve the quality of life for vulnerable people by providing a stable environment which enables greater independence. The planning and development of services is based on the needs of local people.

The aim of housing-related support is to develop and sustain an individual's ability to live independently in their accommodation.

Some examples of housing-related support are:

  • Help with managing money and paying bills
  • Help with understanding the rights and responsibilities of a tenancy agreement
  • Provision of a community alarm service, warden or scheme manager
  • Signposting to other agencies like drug and alcohol services, education and employment agencies
