Halloween at Newham Grange Farm

The build-up to the spookiest night of the year begins in earnest this weekend with a feast of Halloween family fun in Middlesbrough.

Calling all mini witches and wizards – all are invited to Newham Grange Farm this October for seasonal fun and frolics.

The ever-popular Pumpkin Patch is back this weekend (October 12 & 13) for picking and carving, and it will be open for business next weekend and then during half term week from Saturday, October 26 to Thursday, October 31.

The pumpkins are medium-sized for little hands, and there’s also lots of creative arts and crafts fun to be had in the Play Town afterwards.

From tomorrow, visitors can also follow the spook-tacular Halloween Trail around the farm with chocolate treats up for grabs for those who find all the clues.

Little ones can dress up in their best fancy dress across the farm’s Halloween period and there’s spot prizes to be won on weekends and during the school holidays.

And visitors can pop in to see their favourite furry friends in the Discovery Barn, while the café will be serving up hot treats including jacket potatoes, hotdogs, burgers and Halloween-themed sweet treats.

Councillor Philippa Storey, Middlesbrough Deputy Mayor and Executive member for Culture & Education, said: “As the nights draw in and autumn takes hold, there’s always some spooky family fun to look forward to.

“The emphasis is firmly on fun for young and old alike, and it really is suitable for all ages.

“It’s a fantastic venue, so I’d urge as many people as possible to go along and join in a brilliant array of activities.

“I’m taking my kids as they go every year and love it.”

Standard admission charges apply. Pumpkins cost £3.50 each and are subject to availability.

The farm is open 10am – 4pm, last entry 3pm.
