eBooks help and guidance

What are eBooks?

eBooks are often called digital books or electronic books. They are book-length publications in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on computers or other electronic devices such as tablets, smartphones or dedicated eBook readers (eReaders).

OverDrive® eBook Service is a free service available to registered members of Middlesbrough Libraries who hold a valid Library Card and PIN Number. Users can browse a selection of fiction and non-fiction books and download them to a computer or compatible device from the comfort of their own home. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the loan period, so there are no overdue charges.
