Bulky waste is household waste or rubbish that does not fit into your wheelie bin.

We have a free service to collect bulky items. The service is available to all residents of Middlesbrough, and is offered in addition to the weekly rubbish and fortnightly recycling collections.

Examples of bulky waste are:

  • kitchen items - for example: fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave
  • electrical items - for example: TV, computer, washing machine
  • furniture - for example: bed, sofa

Before you book a bulky waste collection, have you thought about donating your unwanted items to charity? A number of charities, including Teesside Hospice and the British Heart Foundation will collect your items from your home.

Businesses must request a one-off collection, not a bulky waste collection. There is a cost for this service.
