We're aware of scam phone calls targeting residents. The caller, claiming to be from the Revenues Service, is telling residents that they are due a Council Tax refund because of an administration error. Residents are then asked to provide their long card number details so their refund can be paid.
Some residents have said the caller calls himself Dave or David Connor, and is well spoken.
These calls are a scam and do not come from the council.
If you are due a Council Tax refund, we would use the information we have on file for you to process the refund. We would not ask for your long card number to do this.
If you've had one of these scam calls, contact your bank to check for any fraudulent activity.
